our Budget Plan options. We estimate your heating costs for the year ahead and divide the total into equal monthly payments, and you choose whether to pay in 10 months or 12 months. It's a great way to get out in front of your fuel costs and avoid a budget squeeze during heating season.

Approved Oil Co. customers can guard against inflation and make heating bills more predictable with price protection. We offer two programs - fixed price and capped price - that guarantee your gallon price for the entire heating season.
Fixed Price: You agree to buy a fixed number of gallons at a predetermined price that does not change during the heating season. Your price will not change regardless of what happens to world oil prices, and a prepay option is available.
Capped Price: You agree to buy a fixed number of gallons, and we guarantee (a) that your price will not exceed a predetermined maximum or cap, and (b) your price will decrease over the life of the contract if the price we pay for the oil drops.

Customers who need help paying their heating bills may be eligible for assistance from different government agencies and private companies. Here is a look at some of the programs that serve the New York City area.
Citizens Energy Oil Heat Program
The Citizens Energy Oil Heat Program, in partnership with CITGO, has delivered millions of gallons of discounted home heating oil to needy households in New York and other cold weather states since 1979 - protecting needy families from volatile heating oil prices that might cause them to cut back on necessities like food and medicine. Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
HEAP is a federally funded program that issues heating benefits to supplement a household's annual energy cost. HEAP also offers an emergency benefit for households in a heat or heat-related energy emergency. Additionally, HEAP offers a furnace repair and/or replacement benefit for households with inoperable heating equipment.
You may be eligible for a Regular Benefit if:
- You are a United States citizen or qualified alien AND
- Your income is at or below the current income guides, OR you receive Food Stamps, OR you receive Temporary Assistance, OR you receive Code A Supplemental Security Income.
You may apply for HEAP benefits by mail, in person at your local social services office, over the phone, or over the Internet. See the New York State HEAP Web site at

Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program assists income-eligible families and individuals by reducing their heating/cooling costs and improving the safety of their homes through energy efficiency measures. Improvements performed through the program include air sealing (weatherstripping, caulking), wall and ceiling insulation, heating system improvements or replacement, efficiency improvements in lighting, hot water tank and pipe insulation, and refrigerator replacements with highly efficient Energy Star rated units. Both single-family and multi-family buildings are assisted. Household energy use reductions and resultant energy cost savings are significant, with an average savings in excess of 20%.
