Chris Fazio

Operations Manager

Chris Fazio, our Operations Manager, oversees the day-to-day operations of many different departments. His main goal is to increase customer satisfaction through competitive pricing while offering outstanding service to all our customers, large or small. Chris, an experienced commodities trader, will also oversee our purchases of energy products through futures and option contracts to ensure the best possible prices for our customers.

After a twenty-year career as a commodity broker and trader, Chris still retains a membership at the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Chris was V.P. of Operations and a senior broker for S&P Commodity Trading Co., one of the largest brokerage firms at the exchange. We are confident that Chris' knowledge and understanding of the complex energy markets will help us time our purchases of oil more effectively, so we can pass these savings to our customers. We are very fortunate to have Chris onboard as we - as well as our customers - adapt to the ever-present economic changes we are faced with in today's world.

Ed Guari

Ed Guari spent his entire life around the oil industry. As a child, his playground was his father's truck repair shop. In 1978, he and his father opened their own tank truck fabrication business. In 1990, Ed saw the opportunity to start Gotham Petroleum Transport. Almost simultaneously, Sterling Petroleum, a retail home heating oil company, was created. The Guari family ran five separate companies with a total of almost 150 employees until Ed's father's health began to limit the family's control of the business. Today, Ed is content to let Vincent Theurer man the helm, and he is happiest doing what he thinks he does best - spending time with customers.

Frank Aiello

Frank Aiello's experience in the oil industry began in 1976 as an assistant manager at a family owned oil company based in Pennsylvania. He maintained over 280 employees and was directly involved in all aspects of the daily operations. He is also Nassau County's Regional Vice President of Sales. As a graduate of NYU with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Administration Marketing, Frank brings understanding and an insight to the Approved Oil family that only thirty years in the industry can provide. He has the advantage to readily aid our customers with knowledgeable and caring assistance.

Fred Tamburino

Fred Tamburino has over 35 years of experience in the oil industry. Starting in 1974 Fred has experience in all phases of the oil industry, from delivering oil, installing heating equipment and conservation measures. Fred has worked as a heating equipment specialist, sales representative and as a regional general manager at some of the largest energy companies in the northeastern United States. He will employ his considerable talents in marketing Approved Oil Company's full product line with a focus on fuel oil, natural gas and electricity products as well as new burner and boiler equipment sales.

Fred brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his position of Vice President - Commercial Sales. Our customers will reap the benefits of his knowledge as he works with them to craft cost effective solutions to their energy and equipment needs. We are pleased to welcome Fred to the Approved Oil Company family. He is an outstanding example of the kind of knowledgeable sales staff upon which we pride ourselves.

George Konstantopoulos

George is in his 8th season at Approved Oil Company, making him one of longest serving salesmen. After college, George started out as a sales representative. He worked his way up to an assistant position, and is now the sales manager. He is a familiar face in the office and a friendly voice on the phone to all of the Approved oil clients he assists. He continues to help those in the neighborhood find the best and most cost-effective ways to heat their homes, and is considered an expert energy analyst. George works to deliver the best heating solutions to both residential and commercial customers throughout the metro area. Outside of work, George is very involved in his community and volunteers at his local church as a coach for a youth basketball team.

Joyce Estrada

Joyce Estrada started her career in the oil industry at Empire State Fuel, and made a seamless transition to Approved Oil Company in 2007. Even though she has worked primarily with residential home owners she has extensive experience with commercial accounts. Every account that she deals with receives the same time and respect whether they have a 275 gallon tank or a 60,000 gallon tank. She has the ability to communicate effectively. She has confidence, drive and determination. Some people characterize her as a tenacious, consistent performer who sets and maintains high standards and work ethics and leads by example.

Born and raised in Brooklyn she moved to Staten Island as a newlywed over 17 years with her husband. She now has two lovely children. She is able to multi-task and manages not only a career but a soccer mom schedule. She gives all aspects in her life that special attention.

Stephen Centineo

Approved Oil Company is excited to welcome Stephen Centineo to the Approved Oil family. His position as Senior Account Executive will benefit our customers enormously. Mr. Centineo has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining Approved Oil, Stephen worked for Castle Oil Company for a brief period as Account Executive, where he continued to grow his knowledge in the energy industry. Stephen was Senior Sales Executive of Empire State Oil Company in Brooklyn, where he was responsible for commercial as well as residential energy sales.

Mike Maniscolco

Mike joined the Approved Oil family with our acquisition of Stuyvesant Fuel, so he's a familiar face to many and a new face for others. He has worked in the comfort industry for 26 years, after graduating from William E. Grady Vocational and Technical High School in Brooklyn and completing a course in Environmental Climate Control. Mike is an accomplished installer and inspector is considered an expert in New York City building regulations. He is a Licensed by the New York City Department of Buildings as a Fuel Burning Equipment Installer; and is a licensed oil burner installer for the City of Yonkers, City of Mount Vernon and City of New Rochelle. Mike is also a N.Y.C. Licensed Master Plumber - so if your boiler is on the fritz, Mike's your man! When Mike isn't repairing a boiler or fixing a leaky pipe, he enjoys spending quality time on his boat with his family. He is a proud father of three and grandfather of two.

Mike Sheperd

After College and the Navy, Mike joined the family fuel oil business "Long Island Oil Products" until it was sold.

Since then he has served as GM of Hunts Point Fuel and later became part of the sales team at Castle Oil and Stuyvesant Fuel Oil. In all he has better than 50 years serving the Oil Heat industry in the metropolitan area.

Phil Fishbien

Phil has been in the heating oil industry for 80 years. He owned and operated his own company, Somco Fuel, for 50 years. He then worked at Empire State Fuel for 20 years and became an Approved Oil Company Employee this past year. He has worked in many aspect of the business over the years and brings with him his extensive knowledge of the heating industry.

Part of the NYC fuel oil and heating industry since 1976. Manager of bulk oil storage terminals. Certified Supervisor Hazardous Waste Operations. Certified Honeywell Commercial Controls Specialist.

Over the past 33 years, installed numerous heating and process systems, commercial, industrial and residential, steam and hot water systems, high and low pressure, all grades of fuel oil and natural gas, specialized piping systems, fuel oil storage systems, gasoline and diesel storage and dispensing systems, diesel generator storage systems, etc.

Vinny Siciliano

Vinny's experience in the oil industry began in 1981 working for Rose Fuel where he acquired years of service technician experience and general knowledge of the oil industry itself. Rose Fuel was later acquired by Bayside Fuel where he spent 10 years as the service manager. He was welcomed to the Approved Oil family in 2001 where he has spent the last eight years as our Service Manager.
